1. I know for a fact that expectations are the building blocks of disappointment but I still harbored them anyways, like illegal citizens I pitied, hoping to protect from ICE. 2. I suppose it's a long running tradition in academia to over intellectualize that which appears to be connected through a linear logic system. If it didn't then, there would be fewer grants to compete for or awarded for that matter. 3. Old folks say when your ears get hot, someone is talking about you.
